Whether you want to redact body worn camera footage, CCTV, or redacting video for the purposes of video analytics, Secure Redact can help.

First, what is a single redaction box?

A redaction box is an overlaid orange box onto a face, number plate, or object that will be redacted, within that specific and singular frame.

Whilst removing a track is a way of un-redacting an individual over the duration of the video, removing a specific redaction box will only un-blur that individual or object in that particular frame.

So, how do you do this?

First, go to that specific frame which you need to remove the redaction box from. You can use the video controls at the bottom of the screen to do so.

Once you have found the right frame, right-click on the orange box you want to remove, and select “Remove redaction box” from the drop down menu. Or you can use one of our keyboard shortcuts - the backspace button.

The orange box will then disappear in that frame. Note that when you use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move forward or back a frame, the individual is still redacted/has an orange box. This function will only remove the box in that specific frame, so that that individual or object will not be redacted for the duration of that frame.

If you make a mistake and want to bring back a removed redaction box, you can click the “UNDO” button if it was the last action you made. If you performed any other actions after removing the box, you can just manually add a new redaction box again.
