Split

You may need to Split a track if this sounds familiar:

  • The tracking goes askew in a particular frame.

  • The tracking has switched to another individual/object.

  1. Ensure you are in the right video frame and pause the video.

  2. Click on their orange redaction box (or if you are working from the Timeline, click on the corresponding orange bar).

  3. Click Split from the Toolbar.

    • Keyboard shortcut: S

  4. Once the track is split, choose to:

    • Delete the 2nd half (click Delete in the Toolbar). Then, continue tracking the individual using the Tracker feature - or,

    • If the tracking issue was that it has switched to another individual, work from the Timeline to easily solve this. Drag the track’s 2nd half into the corresponding row of the individual it was tracking.
